North Table Mountain - Golden, Colorado

I've been on holiday mode since December 20, 2017 and today is the first day I've had to myself. I'll admit I spent much of the day lounging around; even partook in a two hour cat nap, but I also got in a three mile run at Wash Park. It evens out, right?

A lot has happened since December 20, 2017. I'll spare boring details and speed you up to the part where my brother and I drove from Chicago to Denver. For those of you who aren't aware, Chicago is my hometown.

After driving a solid 13 hours, we made it a point to treat ourselves to a much-needed photo session on top of North Table Mountain.

The ascent made my heart and lungs burst, while my legs, still wobbly from the car ride, climbed as fast as they could. The Midwest stole my built-up resistance to the altitude and it was apparent. But we hiked, passing others on the trail out of eagerness. We were approaching the golden hour over the Rocky Mountains and it was going to be magnificent.

To our surprise, the wind was a welcomed touch and made our photos more unique and unlike anything we've ever shot together. Here we bring you a healthy mix of fire and ice on top of North Table Mountain in Golden, Colorado.
